I just finished piecing together the first extremely rough cut footage of the tour video and it comes in at about 45 minutes so far… Lots to trim/cut/replace though.

Here’s part 3 of the tour in photos. This time, Birmingham:

Last night I started editing the tour video. Lots of shaky, out of focus footage of lorries (Thanks Mr Bennett!), but thankfully plenty of usable footage too. I thought I’d post some of the choice iPhone pics from the tour as a little teaser. This is what life on tour with Adam Bennett looks like, largely through the medium of the hipstamatic iPhone app!

So, I’m back form an ace tour. It was a laugh from start to finish. Big thanks to everyone who gave us a gig, put us up for night, fed us, listened and said hi.

I’ve transfered all the tour footage to my computer, so there’ll be a video somewhere in the near future, but for now here’s an ace video of Jim Lockey and The Solemn Sun performing ‘Battles’ from the Bristol gig. Enjoy:

Back in the garage…

July 18th, 2010

I was just looking through some of my old videos on youtube and stumbled on this gem from 2006. There wasn’t much I loved about the Bournemouth music ‘scene’, but Si Genaro and The Poet Hi-Ho were two of my favourites both musically and personally. There was never a dull gig with either of them around.

So anyway, here’s us three giving our own unique take on ‘Garageland’ by The Clash, at The Green Room back in 2006:

What’s that? You’d like to hear me ruin a song by Bomb The Music Industry!? Ok. Here you go…

Future 86 – Bomb The Music Industry! cover by adamboucher

I recorded this last night while testing out the fourtrack app on my iPhone. Everything except the lead guitar line was recorded with the app and the iPhone’s internal mic. I dumped the tracks into Pro-Tools, added the lead line (the distortion is from a Pro-Tools plug-in) and chopped out a few fuck ups. I totally messed up the ending but ho hum.

Enjoy… For some reason it’s not downloadable through the embedded player. Click through to the actual soundcloud page if you want to download it.

I love BMTI! and you should check them out if you haven’t already:

House show anyone?

July 12th, 2010

Howdy people of internet land. I’m going on tour soon. Only a little one, but it’ll still be ace. Well, except I still have one gig left to book. Boo. But, you could help. Yes you!

Do you have a house/flat/shed/garden/private beach?
Do you have some friends?
Would you like to put them altogether along with some brilliant acoustic music from myself and Adam Bennett?
Would you like to do this on Friday 23rd July (next Friday)?

You would? Excellent!!

E-mail me – adam-at-adamboucher.com and let’s talk.

You’d be doing me a huge favour. We’re in Bristol the day before and Birmingham the day after, so probably no need to offer a gig in New York, though that would be ace under normal circumstances, especially if ‘normal circumstances’ meant a US tour (this would rule so much). Thanks internet. I knew you’d help!

Struggler…

July 11th, 2010

So, I played a last minute solo gig in Clapham on Friday night. Ever the cynic, I expected the worst but decided to do it to get some practice as I’d not played a solo gig in a few months and it was with Adam Bennett, who I’m doing a mini-tour with at the end of the month.

I’ve been playing gigs for long enough now and I’d say I have a fairly good ability to know when a gig is likely to be arse, even before getting to the venue. This one was arse and I sensed it when I accepted the gig. In fact acoustic gigs in pubs are rarely great.

On arrival, there was no sign of the promoter, no sign of any PA, hardly anyone in th pub and the other act came and chatted to us about how this had happened to them before with the promoter. We decided to make the most of it and play unplugged outside the pub.

The Folk Things

There wasn’t an audience, other than the other act and a few of their friends, but it was still fun, we were getting free drinks and let’s face it, playing music to anybody beats sitting in and watching crap TV. But if the Coach and Horses in Clapham ask you to play a gig, understand that you’ll play unplugged outside, to nobody just for the hell of it.
